Dimitris Polychronakis is currently an Associate Professor at the University of Crete. He studied Philology at the University of Crete (BA 1993) where he also completed his postgraduate studies in Modern Greek Studies (MA 1995) and his Ph.D. (2000) in the field of Modern Greek Literature. Since 2003 he is teaching at the University of Crete.

to the 20th century, focusing on issues related to European and Greek Enlightenment, the poetry and the prose of Romanticism, the literary critique and the aesthetics of the 19th and 20th century, comedy and satire, realism, naturalism, symbolism, modernism, surrealism and modern literary theory
